- Today we look at 3 documentary for research (small & big)

- Brief explanation about documentary 

Friday(week 3)

- We did documentary analysis

- Group for documentary subgenre food is an idea in our group 

- Research finish by next week

- Do concept development ideas

- Do concept development ideas and some changes.

Problem: We couldn't decide what food we film

Solution: Nasi padang

- First filming start in 1 September 2023

Firstly we film the opening intro on week 7 (1st September) 

Second filming day which in 1 September 

In week 8 between September 8 and 9 we will also filming and do our finishing

Week 7

- Revised some part for storyboard

- Work on thumbnail 

- We change our plan for filming. It do on Saturday 2 September

- Nasi padang not the best one so we decide to choose Nasi campur.

Problem: 

Difficulty in choosing outfit

Wear Balinese outfit

Research

 This is my research of my documentary

- Making a murderer 2018 season 1 episode 1

Making a murder subgenre is criminal and it categorised as expository documentary which the documentary telling the truth about the criminal. Dark and loud music it's suitable for criminal documentary because usually its indicating evilness. The criminal appearance look messy and fat, the habits in his lifestyle is not healthy because members in his family are smoking and his drinking alcohol when he get back from the jail. 

- Life in a day 2020 Youtube

This documentary is lifestyle. It shows different people activities such as how different peoples are giving birth, travelling with their own car, and others. Music is actually getting intense before the child born which brings up the intensity to the audience. Music getting slow down to show the happiness feeling.

- Gordon Ramsay uncharted 2021 season 2 episode 2 

The documentary is about food and travel. Music background intense and the voice over is match with the music which to engage the audiences, so the audiences will be excited. Cameraman shoot use establishing shot and drone shot to show how Indonesian look and the tradition. The moment that suit for food is when Gordon Ramsay try the Indonesian food. Target audience is for anyone that interest in culinary and travel.

The cameraman often use long shot and sometime extreme long shot. The documentary showing wildlife animal and has no interaction with the animal which categorised as observational documentary. They recorded far from the animal using the long shot to show how fast the lion can catch the prey. Some part use tracking shot we as audience feel like moving along and panning just move the camera.

The documentary has interaction with peoples but the film maker doesn't involved and its telling true story about the situation known as expository documentary. This type of documentary at beginning use establishing shot to show the audience where is it film and when the camera man recorded in crowd situation the camera man start to use close up shot to show how does the people expression there and also using zoom shot when one girl is giving speech to focusing the audiences more on her. Mise en scene in outside to show the situation and interact with people in outside and inside someone house to give an ideas to audiences the family daily life.

• Use of close up shot is to show the suspect emotion when film maker asking question, an establishing shot is for showing where is it located or where is the suspect currently at, the camera man use tracking every time show the room, when suspects name are shown.
