Logo Development - Buaya FM

Based on the radio station that I found in UK, I think the one that fit with my podcast is the Indie Rock Radio. I like the guitar logo on it and the lightning as well. I do like the Classic Hits Radio as well, look really simple, the colour-way look good the text match with the background colour and the lightning to. But for this one I think, the logo text look really basic so I might change it.

Other reference that I found is from the rock band. Due my podcast is in rock genre, the Polyphia logo text will fit better compare to Classic Hits Radio text.

News Values

1. Negativity

‘Hard’ News - bad news will almost always be prioritised.

2. Proximity

Things that happen close to home (domestic news) or that involve people from a local area.

3. Recency

“Breaking News’

4. Currency

The ‘value’ of a story. If it is useful for people.

5. Continuity

Stories that are likely to continue for a long time.

6. Simplicity

The easier the story is to understand, the better.

7. Personality

Often ‘soft’ news surrounds personalities in whom the public has an interest eg. Royal family, celebrities, athletes

8. Uniqueness

If a story is unusual or surprising

9. Expectedness

Includes diary events - things that happen at a particular time of the year.

10. Elite nations/people

Western societies such as European countries and the USA will tend to dominate the news.

11. Exclusivity

When a news channel has footage or information that is not yet in possession of others.

12. Threshold

How many people are impacted on by an event.

The news that I chose is Spitting image has been cancel by ITV, despite national need for political satire, says star.

Based on the news that I read, it can be categorised into:

1. Expectedness = A new comedy using deep fake techniques to create hilarious celebrity set-ups, after a 24-year absence, as the flagship commission for BritBox, the new UK subscription streaming rival to Netflix and Disney.

2. Uniqueness = Create hilarious celebrity set-ups,

3. Negativity =  forced to rewrite his current West End stand-up show and retitle it Goodbye Liz, said he fears for the future of satire on British TV.

Term 2 Radio

Radio week 1

- Today our group make a survey about the radio to decide the target audience

Radio week 2

- We figuring out who is our target audience

- Start creating a script

- Decide what music genre to use

- Decide who are the speakers

- Decide radio name (Buaya FM)

- Design logo

Survey result

Based on the survey, Mostly the audiences are from grade 11 and male gender.

Based on the form we find that most people like to listen to pop, however, we find a niche market for rock+metal as an alternative radio.

Radio Week 4

- Today our group going to the podcast room (taking notes, photos) to get use with the tools so we feel more confident to record the podcast next week.
